These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and [COMPANY NAME] ("Get My CV", "we", "us"), operator of the website get-my-cv.com (the "Website") and of the online CV builder available through it (the "Service").
Designing and editing a CV on Get My CV is free. An active paid subscription is required to download your CV as a PDF. Please read these Terms carefully; by using the Website or the Service you accept them in full.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms govern your relationship with us in connection with the Website and the Service. By accessing or using either, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Your Account
An account is created for you when you first subscribe, using the email address on your CV. You must be at least 18 years old, or of the age of majority where you live. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your sign-in email and any password you set confidential, and to tell us at support@get-my-cv.com if you believe someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
3. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for the content you enter into your CV, including that you have the right to use it and that it is accurate. You must not:
- use the Service in breach of any applicable law or regulation;
- infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any person;
- upload or transmit viruses, malware or any other harmful code;
- scrape, crawl, harvest or use automated means to access the Service;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with security or access controls;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or network;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Service;
- remove or obscure any proprietary notice;
- use the Service for spam, fraud or deceptive practices;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- share, resell or transfer your account credentials or your subscription.
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe this section has been breached.
4. Subscription, Billing and Payments
The Service is provided on a subscription basis. New subscribers may be offered a seven-day trial for a one-time activation fee, displayed at checkout, which is charged immediately. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial converts automatically to a monthly subscription at the price displayed at checkout, and that amount is charged to your payment method. The exact date and amount of your first automatic charge are shown on the payment screen before you pay.
The subscription renews automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; we do not store your full card details. If your subscription ends, PDF downloads stop working, but your account and your saved CVs remain available so that you can resume at any time. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price change. A failed payment may lead to suspension of paid features until it is collected.
All sales are final except as required by law or as set out in our Refund Policy. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you have a statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of entering into the contract; by starting the Service immediately you acknowledge that this right may be lost for digital content already delivered. 5. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any CV created with it will lead to an interview or a job. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of EUR 100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law.
6. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the EU member state in which the Company is registered, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction. This is without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country in which you live, including the right to bring proceedings there.
7. Intellectual Property
We own the Website, the Service, the CV templates and all related software, designs and text. You retain ownership of the content you enter into your CV. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and render that content solely to provide the Service to you. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right to use them without obligation to you.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service you consent to that processing, including by the third-party providers we rely on and, where applicable, to transfers outside your country subject to appropriate safeguards.
9. Termination and Suspension
You may stop using the Service at any time and may cancel your subscription in two clicks from your account page or by emailing support@get-my-cv.com. Cancelling ends future renewals; it does not entitle you to a refund except as required by law or under our Refund Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access where you breach these Terms, where we are required to do so by law or by a competent authority, or where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse or a threat to the security of the Service. On termination we may delete your account and its content, subject to any retention we are required or permitted to apply.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of any applicable law.
11. Electronic Communications
You consent to receive communications from us electronically. We send service emails about your account, your payments and your subscription; these are not marketing and are always sent. Promotional emails are sent only where permitted, and you can turn them off at any time from your account page without affecting service emails.
12. Copyright Complaints
If you believe content on the Website infringes your copyright, write to support@get-my-cv.com with: identification of the work, the location of the material, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is unauthorised, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act. We remove infringing material and terminate repeat infringers.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the Service. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last updated.
14. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Subscription Terms and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for a failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
